On the set

The location shoot for West Texas Park & Ride has been completed and I have returned to the old homestead to await delivery of all the footage.

Also found thisĀ in the mailbag:

The reason you are really the best, Joe, is because since the beginning in the late 70’s you alone figured out that males really dig watching the action as it happens. Gay guys do, and so do straight guys. We are males, and sex is visual, that’s how we differ somewhat from female sexual response. This is all good stuff in that camera shots have this built in-it’s the guy way of looking at sex. Over the years I’ve compared notes with straight men and how similar they are to we gay guys. Multiple partners at the same time, watching as well as participating, all of it. I always wondered why other film makers did not quite get it. I wrote you before about Closed Set, 1980, still the opus in adult films. Started with you back in the late 70’s. And I still like the minimum of dialog…..

  1. Sounds very interesting. When will the trailer for scene two of Clinic for Men be released?
Robert–Only one trailer for this feature–reverting to the way I started out.

  2. Dialogs are great…but I wish to see a movie where no “Fuck Yeah!” is allowed…then again, it will become a silent movie.

  3. Can’t wait! And I totally agree with what was stated, your movies will go down in history as some of the best adult movies! Look forward to finding out more about the latest project

  4. “Clinic For Men” is a perfect example of what Joe started doing in the late 70’s. Nobody else was doing it. At age 20 I had a hard time finding truly guy porn with men that looked like the ones I worked around. (It was pretty blue-collar). Guys were way too thin and frankly effeminate in a lot of the porn of the time. When Joe showed guys in boxers in the original Closed Set it was actually a big deal for the time. Most guys really liked it. Sort of started a small revolution in the gay community. Now we were allowed to dress like our fathers did, those of us who had Dads who came back from WWII. Joe’s work is truly the All American guy having hard homosexual sex.

  5. Mr Dragon, I too have a question. Back before time, there was a movie also directed by you, that starred a real slut, Casey Donovan, called “Heatstroke”. This was in the same vein as “L.A. Tool and Die) and such. I have been out of the loop for quite along while (priesthood, not prison!) and I have been unable to locate this particular movie title. I was hoping you could shed some light on this mystery for me. Thank-you and Keep Up the Good Work!! I am a real fan.

  6. Actually, a good line you might want to keep in your head is from the 1980 Closed Set: “Big fuckin’ dick. Stroke that big dick. Balls in the bag-jock man, working it out on his weight bench. Help him out. Suck the juice right out.” By the end of the film this narrative (you never see the speaker) is all over the place and if you submit to it you are in a pretty fine sex club type trance. You wont complain too much..
