Disney is making a movie based on the correspondence between Uncle Walt (Tom Hanks) and P. L. Travers (Emma Thompson), in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the release of Mary Poppins. (Which explains Tom’s moustache at the Emmys.)
Mark Gattis has written a film for the BBC about the creation of Doctor Who, in celebration of it’s 50th anniversary.
And, for the 50th anniversary of James Bond in film, all we’re getting is a re-release of the other films on Blu-Ray, and the next chapter. Someone blew it. There’s a story to be told here.
