Also, am curious about ep’s screenplay. Who finances these things? The porn studios? Woe is us! Every third movie they churn out seems the same. A lot of gay porn these days seem monotonous- like its trying to follow a certain ‘safe’ formula. Then they wonder why sales are down. Can’t we have something that the fans want/ decide on? Maybe we should have a fundraiser for ep’s screenplay
On you getting a reputation as Mr Incest:
Joe, firstly you already have a reputation. You are a legend. The best gay porn director ever. Therefore, you should not be overly concerned with getting a reputation for anything else.
Secondly, porn movies (as in other movies) are also commercial ventures. They have to make money and sell. There are enough videos and websites with twinks and college guys… Boy meets boy… Falls in lust, etc. Competing with this market does not make sense.
There is a large market interested in intergenerational sex and it makes sense targeting this market.
It would be interesting to know how the sales of ‘dad goes to college’ compares.
I just saw that a certain well known director with a large shoe and dress collection has also released a dad/son title. What is VERY interesting is that on TLA video, on the adult gay section, that title is nr.4 on the current bestellers. Mmm, from a commercial viewpoint it looks like this may be a better seller than hundreds of other titles. Therefore (in your defence, if this is even necessary) you are simply responding to the market and am making movies that sell, which is part of the ‘job description’ after all.
The dad/ son theme has not been peaks and throughs in the past. More like a vast, dry desert with occasional drops of rain. Something more regular would be nice.
Joe, please do not be swayed by the industry. Is it not at the end of the day about filling a gap in the market, giving fans what they want and about generating sales for the studios.
