#1 is from a Colt loop called “The Come-On”. It still holds up pretty well. Neither Jack Hacker or Mickey Squires were handsome, but they sure were rugged and hot. I always thought Squires especially, (the one kneeling) had a teddy bear charm. Jim French evidently was impressed with his balls. He comes off very friendly in interviews. I hope that was your experience directing him in “Red Ball Express”. I know it wasn’t one of your favorite films.

GMan–Mickey and I had a fine time on that shoot. I’ll always regret that the final product didn’t come out better.
